Strategic transport projects presented their joint vision to Commissioner Johannes Hahn in Gdansk, Poland

Being part of the flagship project "Cooperation for smarter transport" of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region, the four strategic transport projects TransBaltic, East-West Transport Corridor II (EWTC II), Rail Baltica Growth Corridor (RBGC) and Scandria were given the opportunity to present their joint vision during the European Commission's 2nd Annual Forum on the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region in Gdańsk, Poland, 24-26 October 2011.

Johannes Hahn, EU-Commissioner for Regional Policy and Dirk Ahner, Director General of DG Regio visited the joint stand, where they were presented the joint vision of the strategic transport projects: a Baltic Sea Region that is connected to Europe and the future global markets and that acts as major facilitator of sustainable transport solutions worldwide.

Whether the information broker system, developed by EWTC II, rail connections in the Baltic states promoted by RBGC, the Scandria biogas corridor or the Green Corridor Stakeholders Forum organized by TransBaltic: Jointly, the projects contribute to the development of Green Transport Corridors as a basis for future sustainable development in the Baltic Sea Region.
