First SuperGreen workshop on green corridor development held in Helsinki
On June 30, 2010 the consortium SuperGreen held its first workshop on Green Corridor development in Helsinki. At the workshop - the first among a number of workshops - a pre-selection of 15 European corridors was presented that will be subject to further investigation according to green corridor criteria.
The Scandinavian-Adriatic Corridor for Growth and Innovation will constitute part of the corridor "Malmö-Trelleborg-Rostock/Sassnitz- Berlin-Munich-Salzburg-Verona-Bologna-Naples-Messina-Palermo", the so called "Brenner" corridor.
Logistics service providers, shippers, carriers, intermodal transport companies, policy makers, researchers and analysts, environmental organizations, and other stakeholders interested in green logistics discussed the approach presented by the consortium.
"SuperGreen" is a Coordination and Support Action, co-funded by the European Commission in the context of the 7th Framework Programme. The project started January 2010 and will last 3 years. It involves 22 partners from 13 European countries.
